Blogging 101 – Updated Blog Introduction

As someone who just started blogging, I decided to sign up to WordPress’ Blogging University ‘Blogging 101’ course. I am a day late with this post, but yesterday was hectic and I had no time to write it! This is an introduction to who I am and why I started this blog just over two weeks ago.

My name is Becca, and I’m a 20 year-old university student in England. I’m about to start my final year at uni, and I have no idea what I want to do with my life! I’ve only begun to wear makeup on a daily basis (if I leave the house) since July this year, and I’ve quickly come to the realisation that I love it! I’ve spent a lot of money on makeup since then (although I did already have a lot of the stuff that I use – birthday presents from an exasperated mother), and I still have a huge list of things that I want. I have always been interested in blogging, and I started this blog in order to connect with other people who love makeup, and could teach me about it! I love reading posts and reviews; and I could look at pictures of makeup products all day long!

I’m still a tomboy, regardless of the fact that I wear makeup and like to dress up now – I still listen to rock music, watch a ridiculous amount of motorsport, and play/watch youtubers play videogames. I just thought that this would be a good way of making friends that understand what I love so much about makeup – people that I can talk to about that kind of stuff (the guys on my pub quiz team can chat for hours about Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, and Minecraft but aren’t really the people I’d go to for advice about makeup!).

I also started this blog to help me to figure out what I want to do with my life. I’m not sure yet if I want to pursue the avenue that my degree seems to be pushing me towards – maybe this blog can help me find other options. My aims for this blog’s first year are really just to post at least two beauty-themed posts a week (Mondays & Thursdays mostly), talk to other bloggers, make lots of friends, and hopefully get over 100 followers (I mean I already have 27, and that’s more than I ever expected to get in a month let alone a couple of weeks!).

Thanks for reading, and don’t be quiet – get in touch! I’d love to hear from everyone who reads my blog – I’m not very good at taking the initiative and commenting first, but feel free to contact me on here, Twitter (@beccasoblivion) or Instagram (@beccasoblivion).

Hope you all have a beautiful day,

Becca x
